Our experienced and caring clinicians optimize the patient’s comfort by managing symptoms; support the needs of the entire family; and strive to create an environment that highlights the rewarding moments in this phase of life’s journey.

We are a not-for-profit hospice that is honored and humbled by the opportunity to care for individuals at end-of-life. And even though some of the programs and services we offer are not fully funded by Medicare or insurance, we are deeply committed to providing exceptional care and services for all patients. Your donations can help cover the cost of these programs so that we can continue to provide the highest quality care for individuals and their families.

Hospice care is provided wherever the person calls home. To ensure those who reside in a facility-based residence receive hospice care, Carilion Clinic Hospice New River Valley holds established agreements with many assisted living and long-term care facilities. We partner together to create a plan of care that highlights the patient’s care needs, promotes their dignity, and ensures optimal pain and symptom management. We offer the same level of hospice care and support to someone living in a facility as to someone living in their home.
