Pulaski Daily Bread Inc

I would like the pleasure to introduce myself and our Program to you. My name is Michael Boothe, Director of the Pulaski Daily Bread. The Daily Bread is a non-profit charitable organization that is located in Pulaski Virginia at the First Presbyterian Church. 

We provide and serve a free hot noon-day meal Monday through Friday for any individuals who feel they are hungry or in the need of nourishment. We have been in operation since April of 1987 and since that time we have served over one million meals. We are grateful for the support of those who have helped us maintain our level of service.

Daily Bread has depleted many of it's stored food because of COVID. We lost many volunteers and donations that helped us to continue to feed the hungry in Pulaski.  We depend on grants,  generous community support, and donations to continue our free lunch program.  We along with other agencies have felt the strain of the times, Mostly, due to inflation and the cutting of relief money, which results in more people in need.  The available funds have become smaller (so the pie is smaller) and there are more agencies needing assistance adding to the number of slices to this pie,  so our slice has become even smaller. We try our best to be frugal with the money  and food we do receive to maintain the level of support to those in need. We are very grateful to still be here and available.
