Mission: The Foundation supports the RHEC and its partner institutions through fundraising and resource development to meet the evolving demands of our region’s diverse workforce through education, training, student services, and lifelong learning programs.

Vision: To strengthen the region’s economy by supporting access to education and training that empowers the region’s workforce and improves the quality of life.

Fundraising Priorities

1. Career & Workforce Training Center to assist students and workers, employees and employers in the region. 

Services include:

• Resume writing
• Interview preparation
• Portfolio development and presentation
• Career re-direction     
• Tips and techniques on entering the workforce       
• Internships with businesses and industries       
• Job opportunities and referrals

2. RHEC Scholarship Fund to provide financial aid to deserving students. Tuition assistance to attend classes at RHEC in collaboration with partner institutions.

3. Innovation Fund to provide seed money to encourage and incentivize new program development in collaboration with partner institutions.   

• Expanding healthcare programming
• Program development in Technology
• Other possible areas as informed by workforce reports  
• Job skill development as recommended by Virginia’s Blue Ridge Works and the Workforce Development Board

4. Support the RHEC Mission.

• Help support the day to day expenses of the RHEC Foundation.  

Goals: 

• Support the Roanoke Higher Education Center’s strategic vision and broaden its base of support.
• Enhance continuous learning experiences, create facility improvements, and expand opportunities by cultivating partnerships and maximizing resources with fiscal integrity.
• Promote new ideas of entrepreneurship and continuous improvement of programs, degrees, certificates, and endorsements.
• Develop and maintain a level of support to the Roanoke Higher Education Center on an ongoing basis.
• Respond to the needs of the community as it concerns talent development and job growth.
• Create partnerships with businesses and industries.
