Springhouse: Celebrating 10 Years of Inter-generational Vitality-Centered Learning

Springhouse envisions a world where all life thrives and they steadily work towards this bold vision through fundamentally transforming the purpose and practice of education.

Elliot Reilly - Graduating Class of 2024

From Elliot: As my time at Springhouse came to a close, I made an effort to savor the final moments in this special community. Throughout my time here I have built buildings, created art pieces to inspire change in our culture, and delved inwards, finding my own truths and learning how to continue my growth after Springhouse. I truly believe in the mission of Springhouse and the value that it offers to the world. If you are able, please donate so that this school can continue to change people's lives and, thereby, change the world.

Also, watch this raw interview of me from Fall 2022 (I was only 16 years old when this took place).

From Arlo: For the last three years I’ve attended Springhouse. Over these years, I have had a lot of new experiences and relationships. At Springhouse, we are encouraged to push our growing edges, and we sometimes do things that we might have been uncomfortable with before. A way that we do this is public speaking or speaking to large groups of people. Presentation Night is a really good example of this. Presentation Night is an event where the students present to families, friends, and other people from the community. Presentation Night has really improved my public speaking, since we have a lot of practice runs, and I know that it's okay to slip up. Springhouse has been a really supportive community, which I am grateful for. I hope that you will donate to Springhouse, which will help us continue to do what we do –  having vitality-centered education that moves us towards a world where all life thrives.

From Carolyn: I became a student of Life at a very young age. I recall an experience when I was 5 years old, laying in a cradle-like branch of a beautiful dogwood tree in my yard at home. There, as I was held by a tree looking up through dancing leaves towards the bright sunny sky, I had a profound awakening to a power greater than myself, the greatest teacher and source of learning I’ll ever have. I felt utter joy and deep peace (I still do when I reflect on the experience).

I like to say that I’m an ongoing student in "Life University," learning from the mysteries and power of Life. Springhouse is a place that not only facilitates this type of learning for all ages, we also publish and share the design and a curriculum that doesn’t shy away from all aspects of LIFE (because we know it’s not easy and it’s definitely not perfect).

Throughout my time on staff at Springhouse, I’ve grown in my capacity to serve as I align more and more with the Power of Life. I’m committed to exploring more holistically what it means to be a leader in our world at this time. I am also called to share my learning through programs and offerings for adults who long to align with the power of Life in their own, unique way. (You can check out a year-long program I’m facilitating next year called True North)

Springhouse is a community that honors and celebrates the power of Life. I’m very grateful to be connected in a place that is deeply committed to working day-in and day-out towards a world where ALL life thrives. There are many ways organizations and communities are working towards this same vision; we specifically take action in the realm route of education - radically transforming the WHY and the HOW of it. Your financial gift to Springhouse supports our transformational work for learners of all ages and stages.
