The Joy of Making Art:Small section of the "Off the Wall" Art Exhibit at the Fine Arts Center

Look at those hands!

When we were finished having three-to-five-year old children at the Learning Circle in Dublin contribute to our December 2024 "Off the Wall" exhibit, their teachers let them play in the paint.  Feel it, smear it, enjoy it! The appeal of rubbing their bare little hands in the wet paint was irresistible!  For pre-school aged artists to be able to be part of an art exhibit at the Edna Love Gallery was a joy for both the many, many children who participated as well as for the Fine Arts Center volunteers who facilitated the creation of over 130 8"x8" canvases painted in 2 layers by children and adults all throughout the NRV.

Monthly Saturday gatherings for children to create artThis story is just one of many reasons why I am committed to volunteering time and energy and financial support for the Fine Arts Center for the NRV.  Our monthly Creative Club for children ages 4-12 gives me and other volunteers an opportunity to witness the creative and uninhibited flow of ideas and vision to the particular art project we are making.  And to watch adults gain new artistry skills through our adult art education programs is another joy I receive.

I have even been an adult art student on several occasions and to thisCreated for silent auction fund-raiser day I turn stained glass art (that I learned years ago under Edna Love) into donations to support NRV area non-profit agencies' fund-raising auctions.

Maybe you can catch some of the Joy of Making Art that the Fine Arts Center enables through art education, exhibitions, and special events!  We'd love to see you!
