Amanda's GiveLocalNRV for PLENTY!

Twice as many families and individuals are visiting Plenty on a regular basis, as did in 2022.  We continue to see a great need in a community to fill the gap for food insecurity.  As a volunteer of plenty for 9+ years, I have seen a lot of growth and change to meet the demands.  The staff went from 1/2 part time position to 6 positions (currently).  There are more than 85 volunteer shifts per week.  Food must be purchased to address the shortfall and fulfill the requirements where donations fall short.  On a recent evening during my volunteer shift, what would normally be one line of patrons for pantry...there were three lines.  The need is here ...and likely to stay.

I ask you to give along with me, to a non profit I feel certain uses the funds in an efficient manner.  Our own children still remember the hunger pangs they felt when their needs weren't met as youngsters.  As I am on site, I often see previous students that are now patrons as young adults.  Many are doing what they can in their own finances to pay all their bills and still come up short.  I'm glad to be a part of something that helps lighten the load a little bit.  I have seen the distress fade away from a mother's face when she's able to get two bags of high quality meat, produce, eggs, and essentials.  I've seen others receive food for a few months while in between jobs, then return as a volunteer to give back.
